My journey with houseplants began with a gift. A single dracaena offered to me simply because its previous owner no longer wanted it. I accepted it indifferently because ‘why not?’.
Little did I know that 5 years later my home would be filled with a vast collection of indoor plants both small and tall, and I'd have plans to start my first business offering those plants to others.
While I still have that gifted draceana, I now also have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all kinds of indoor plants - from fussy ferns to straightforward snake plants.

With The Potted Plant I want to share my love and knowledge of houseplants with the north east and beyond. There's so much beauty in caring for houseplants - and I can't wait to help you discover it.
My idea
If I’ve learnt one thing from discussing plants, it’s that many people are intimidated by them - worrying that they'll kill theirs within a matter of weeks, days or even hours.
But I don’t believe in black thumbs. I believe that, with the right knowledge and a guiding hand, anyone can grow plants indoors - whether that’s 1 small cactus or 100 tropicals.
Over the years I’ve helped numerous friends and family better understand their houseplants, and it puts a smile on my face knowing that through my passion others have felt inspired to grow plants themselves.
With The Potted Plant I want to go beyond simply selling plants. I want to help plant lovers and newbies make their indoor gardens thrive.

The Potted Plant was born from a desire to share plants and the knowledge to care for them. That’s why every plant sold comes with access to unlimited aftercare. I'm even happy to help if you've bought your plant elsewhere, no matter the issue.
