Hoya, or 'wax plants', have made a comeback after their 70's love affair, and it's easy to see why. Their lovely waxy leaves and stunning clusters of star-shaped flowers make them a great choice for a macrame hanger or trailing down a shelf.
Hoya 'Sunrise' has splashy leaves that range in colour from burgundy through to apple green, giving more of the former when provided with brighter light. Once it has settled into its new home and is cared for properly, it can display beautiful clusters of orange flowers.
💧 Water when the soil has dried out. It is much better to err on the side of underwatering when it comes to Hoya.
🌞 They thrive in bright, indirect light. A north-facing windowsill is ideal, or slightly back from an east or west. In a south-facing room, make sure it does not receive intense direct sun for too long.
🐶🐱 Hoya are non-toxic to cats, dogs and people - yay! We still wouldn't recommend ingesting the leaves as they can give you a sore stomach.
